The Abraham Strickler House

The house, circa 1732, is located on a grassy knoll on our 100 acre retreat with breath taking views of both the mountains and Shenandoah River. The historic site has a rich history where battles of The French Indian War, The Revolutionary War and The Civil War were fought. The house interior is appointed with antiques and fine furnishings reflecting its historic character. A large stone fireplace, original woodwork and well lit rooms create a sense of times gone by. The wide decks and porches lend for a relaxing stay under the large shade trees. A family cemetery, walking trails and two large ponds help to make this a memorable stay.  The riverfront of nearly a mile makes this the perfect location to fishing, canoeing, tubing, hiking and the local wildlife. A rental golf cart gives you easy access to the miles of trails. The house is a central point for visiting Luray Caverns, the Shenandoah National Park, and the National Forest all within 15 minutes drive. Local restaurants, shops and the movie theater are only 4 miles away.
